Our Story

Lindsay is raised Alaskan, and Amanda has proudly called Eagle River home since 2012. Both are married to retired Air Force veterans and remain deeply committed to serving active duty, reserve, and retired military families. As busy moms themselves, they understand firsthand how challenging it can be to prioritize your own health while caring for everyone else.
They first met while working as bedside nurses at Alaska Regional Hospital. Although their career paths eventually diverged, they stayed connected and continued collaborating on patient care over the years. Both shared a deep passion for providing individualized, high-quality care — and a growing frustration with how difficult the healthcare system had become for patients to navigate.
Determined to do better for their patients, they pursued advanced nursing degrees to expand their impact. Yet even as advanced practice providers, they found it challenging to practice medicine in a system largely driven by insurance limitations and fee-for-service reimbursement models.
Their shared vision of delivering thoughtful, relationship-based, whole-person care ultimately led them to open More Than Meds. It is truly a labor of love — and a deliberate effort to rethink healthcare by combining compassion, innovation, and modern medical advances to better serve the people of Eagle River and beyond.
